Ten years of Killingworth & Parrott
Today marks our tenth anniversary.
Given how quickly time flies, it seems like only yesterday that we opened up in the smallest of spaces on Bridge Street in Belper, with people referring to as ‘The Old Jacket Potato Shop’ even after we moved in.
Having created the firm from nothing in the midst of a recession, we outgrew our original office space in the first few years and spent a significant amount of time looking for an appropriate alternative. This eventually came in the form of a derelict building at 65 Chapel Street in Belper, which we had admired for many years. Clearly needing something else to do, we took on the building and brought it back to life, before moving our firm in to the fully refurbished building in July 2019. That move has enabled us to expand considerably, providing space and facilities for our staff and clients, although it does make us wonder how we managed for so long in our previous office!
Our client base has expanded over the years, with many clients returning to us for repeat business or referring their family and friends to us. We take great pride in that and thank them for all the feedback they have provided to enable us to develop our business over the years. We are, after all, here to help them and this is shown in our core values of providing high levels of service with no hidden costs, and to act with integrity and independence.
Like many firms, we concentrate on specific areas of law. For us, that includes residential and commercial property transactions, leases, charities, trusts, powers of attorney, wills and probate matters. However, we have established links with other firms covering other specialists areas of law to ensure that we are able to provide a link to those firms when the need arises.
Whilst our staff has changed over time, each of them (past and present) have contributed to our story. Without them, we would not be the firm we are today.
As a small local business, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our clients, contacts and staff, who have helped contribute to our success. We would like to pay particular and special thanks to our respective wives, Anne Killingworth & Jo Parrott and our wider families. Without their unwavering support, our successes would not have been possible. Our ten years have been hard work but we are immensely proud of what we have achieved. With your continued support, we see a bright future for the firm.
